Playin’ with cool stuff

Jan-31-2007 By annelions

I know I blogged awhile back about dollmakers and dress up games and such, but I never did finish making or remaking the characters I wanted to! I just kept playing with the site and was having too much fun. I had to stop playing around with it.

Maybe I’ll go back to doing it in a bit, but I have been busy with all sorts of things. It’s just too easy to get caught up in trying out all the different combinations. Try this, that and look at the clock… it ends up being 2 hours later!

I mean, just look at all the combinations. They are so completely different, yet both pretty cool looking. They are definitely tempting me to go back and play with the dress up games some more, make some pics for forums and stuff like that. Or maybe for my IM picture. Either way, playing with a doll maker can get very addictive.

I don’t go for the fashion games on the site, personally, I prefer to use the pics in other ways. But right now I have a bazillion things I need to take care of first, before I can play with anything fun like that. Oh well, maybe in a week or two. :-)

Explosive Cakes!

Jan-31-2007 By annelions

I had a dream last night that was stranger than most dreams I have. For some reason, I was with some people who were experimenting with various things. Their newest thing was an exploding cake.

These cakes were horrible looking. They had light grey frosting and had ‘pumpkin’ faces. You know, the kind of faces people carve in pumpkins for Halloween? The cakes had those, only mostly made out of frosting and on the side (like pumpkin) instead of the top (like a cake).

Anyway, the cakes would explode if a lit wooden match was tossed on them. Big gobs of frosting everywhere!

Since the cakes were so terrible looking, I was glad to help explode the cakes.

The last cake to explode did so with a shower of lavender goo. This goo kept growing and growing, becoming more like lavender foam.

The people who had made the cakes were alarmed. They said I shouldn’t have exploded the cake. I countered that they told me to help. They didn’t argue, but they still had no idea how to stop the spread of the goo/foam.

Just as we all had to evacuate Earth (because the stuff was still growing, covering the whole surface and getting deeper), I woke up.

All different kinds of soap

Jan-30-2007 By annelions

There are many kinds of soaps. Laundry soap. Dish soap. Bath soap. Soaps for watching. All kinds.

I can’t stand the kind that you watch, however. That kind is annoying. People act like the stories and actors on the TV are real and a part of their family. There is even a soap opera magazine or two that you can purchase in the checkout stand at most grocery stores so that you can keep up with the latest ‘news’. Why anyone would want to read that or a soap opera website which (while being a nicely looking site) I don’t understand.

But, then, the people that watch soap operas probably can’t understand why I like Star Trek so much.

Well, now, that’s weird…

I still haven’t gotten the email for the blog I’ve been trying to sign up for for the past two days. However, I tried starting up for a different blog at the same place, and that went through immediately! So I don’t understand it. Maybe there was an extra space in the email address or something, at the end, that made it not go through. I think I’m going to just have to wait until the first blog’s name ‘expires’ so that I can sign up for it again.

Oh well.

I’ll get it eventually!

If you already have a phone with most carriers, they’re not going to give you another free one. Or, if they do, you have to go into some store somewhere. But it’s a lot easier to shop for cell phones online. You can easily compare features, research them and order at your leisure. But most of the time, you cannot get the phone free if you do that!

Wirefly, on the other hand, lets you get Sprint phones for free, even if you are already a customer. Plus there are other things you can get, like a free bonus headset, via Wirefly.

Looking at the Wirefly site, I see several different kinds of phones that you can get for free, including KRZR and Katana phones. The phones even have free 2 day delivery via FedEx. That’s pretty cool.

I’ve been looking at the various phones offered and they’re pretty cool, though some are free with rebate and some are free today.

The only problem I have with free cell phones is that they stick you with the monthly fees. You can get a phone for free with a plan of $40/month and only 450 minutes or with Cricket you can get the same phone for $300 but $30/month for unlimited local calls. For $50/month, you can get everything unlimited, including internet (provided that your phone supports it). In the long run, you save more by not going with a ‘traditional’ cell phone company.

However, Sprint, Cingular, AT&T, Alltel, Nextel, Verizon, etc. are good for those that want/need a phone right now and don’t have the cash to pay for a phone outright. Me, I’ll save my money and buy my phone. It saves me money eventually.

Personally, I don’t see the point in getting the phone-of-the-minute. If my phone works, it’s still good. I kept my old cell phone for around 3 years before it started to die and I was forced to upgrade to my aunt’s Kyocera Dorado. And the Dorado will probably last me for another year or two before I decide to upgrade again. Perhaps I’ll get the ‘hottest’ phone at that time, perhaps not. I don’t know yet. I do know I eventually want a phone that can surf the ‘net. That’s just too nifty.

Dang slow internet…

I’m still waiting on an email for a new blog I’m trying to start. It’s frustrating. I know it should be here already, since it’s been nearly 12 hours, but it’s not. The email addy was correct and everything. Maybe there is something wrong with the website itself, I don’t know. I guess I’ll have to try re-signing up in a couple days. Bah.

Funny videos

Jan-28-2007 By annelions

Everyone knows about Google and YouTube videos, but there is more than one place to watch funny videos online.

One video on Jokeroo that’s not funny, but I thought was interesting was the one of the prehistoric shark! That thing looks really weird! I think it looks more like an alien than like something that should be swimming around in our oceans. But that’s pretty cool. Not that I want to meet it, ever.
